What affects courier booking pricing
The final cost is driven by the parcel profile, route, service level and the accuracy of the information entered.
Parcel Details
Actual weight, volumetric weight, and dimensions are the primary cost drivers. A lightweight but bulky parcel can cost more than a heavier compact one.
Route & Service
Origin, destination, service speed, and delivery zone all affect pricing. Express services and remote-area deliveries carry higher rates.
Surcharges & Handling

Actual weight vs volumetric weight
Actual weight is what the parcel weighs on a scale. Volumetric weight reflects the amount of space the parcel takes up in the courier network.
Couriers charge based on whichever is greater. That is why a large box with light contents can still be expensive to ship.
Why accurate details matter
If the parcel is larger or heavier than declared, the final charge may change. Incorrect details can cause delays, adjustments or service issues.
